TECHNICAL
⚠️
KEY RISKS — DON'T IGNORE THESE
Still Deeply Loss-Making
Losses remain in the range of ₹400–₹500 crore per quarter. Revenue declined ~55% year-on-year in Q3 FY26. Profitability is still some distance away.
Moved Into Net Debt
The company had a net debt position of ₹670 crore by end of 9M FY26 — a reversal from its earlier net cash position, creating financial stress.
Still 43% Below All-Time High
Despite the rally, the stock trades at ₹40 versus a 52-week high of ₹71.25 — and its IPO price was ₹76. Long-term investors who bought early remain underwater.
Below 200-Day Moving Average
The stock still trades below its 200-day moving average — meaning the long-term technical uptrend is not yet confirmed. Bears remain in structural control.
One Month of Data ≠ A Trend
March's 150% MoM registration jump is encouraging, but one month doesn't establish a sustained trend. April and May data will be the real test.
Execution Risk on Battery Tech
Ola must successfully transition its entire vehicle lineup to its own battery cells without further service glitches — any slip could rapidly reverse sentiment.
Competition from TVS, Bajaj, Ather
Rivals have widespread service networks and strong brand loyalty. Market share gains by Ola could easily reverse if competition intensifies or government incentives are cut.

KEY METRICS TO WATCH GOING FORWARD
1
Q4 FY26 Earnings — Will March sales convert to revenue? The biggest upcoming test.
2
Monthly VAHAN Data — April & May registrations will confirm if recovery is sustained.
3
Gigafactory Ramp-Up — Progress from 2.5 GWh → 6 GWh capacity is critical.
4
LFP Cell Integration — Expected to enter products next quarter. Watch for delays.
5
Promoter Shareholding — Currently 34.6%. Any further pledge or stake sale will spook markets.
6
200-Day Moving Average — A close above this confirms the long-term trend reversal.
7
Cash Burn Rate — Net debt rose to ₹670 crore. Needs to stabilise or reverse.
8
EV Policy & Subsidies — Any changes to FAME scheme or PLI incentives could impact demand rapidly.
🧭 BOTTOM LINE
Ola Electric's surge is real and backed by genuine catalysts — indigenous battery tech, explosive sales recovery, and cost-cutting through vertical integration. The V-shaped recovery in both market share and operations is a meaningful positive shift from the disaster of 2025.
However, the stock has moved very fast in a very short time. At ₹40+, the risk-reward for fresh buying is unfavorable. The company is still loss-making, cash-burning, and trading below its 200-day moving average. The rally is currently driven more by expectations of future improvement than by present financial strength.
Key principle: Wait for consolidation, size positions according to your risk tolerance, and only allocate capital you can afford to lock up for 12–24 months — or potentially lose entirely given the company's ongoing financial challenges.
