Jyothy Labs reported a sharp fall in its September quarter (Q2 FY27) profit. Net profit fell 87.9% to ₹10.6 crore from ₹87.8 crore a year ago. Revenue rose 3.3% to ₹760 crore from ₹736 crore.

EBITDA (operating profit) plunged 83.9% to ₹19 crore from ₹118 crore, and the EBITDA margin fell to 2.5% from 16%. Without the Pril and Fa businesses, revenue grew 12.4% and volumes grew 8.1%.

The company also announced a share buyback of up to 68.37 lakh shares at ₹215 each, a 15% premium to the market price. This is 1.86% of its equity and will cost ₹147 crore. Promoters will not take part. The record date is not yet announced.

The shares ended Wednesday at ₹189 (+0.32%) on the BSE. The 52-week range is ₹171 to ₹319.05.

The Gujarat government launched a ₹10 crore 'Growth Fund' for technology-based start-ups at the GInTech Conclave 2026 in Gandhinagar.

Early-stage start-ups (Technology Readiness Level up to 4) can get grants of up to ₹30 lakh for proof of concept and trials. Advanced start-ups (TRL-5 and above) can get equity-linked convertible funding of up to ₹2 crore each.

The minister said India has about 2.6 lakh registered start-ups and Gujarat has an estimated 18,000 to 20,000 active ones. Eight regional innovation cells, a fellows programme and shadow internships were also announced.

Markets opened sharply higher on Thursday. Sensex opened at 78,910.94, up 1,609.54 points (2.08%) and Nifty opened at 24,378.05, up 417.45 points (1.74%). All sector indices were positive.

Nifty Private Bank rose more than 2% and Nifty Realty gained 1.86%. Cement, auto, IT, oil & gas and PSU bank indices rose up to 1.82%. FMCG, consumer durables, metal, media and chemicals gained 1% to 1.5%.

Behind the jump: a clear Democratic win in both US chambers, a sharp fall in crude (Brent down nearly 10% to below $100), easing Iran worries and a weaker dollar. The Dow rose more than 3% overnight and the US 10-year yield eased to about 4.89%.

On Wednesday, FIIs bought ₹7,284 crore for a fourth straight session, while DIIs sold ₹3,712 crore for the fourth day in a row.

Nifty stays above its 200-day average near 23,904 and RSI is 68.55 (strong, but profit-booking is possible). Support is seen at 24,000–24,200 and resistance at 24,500–24,700.

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) signed a 100-key Ginger hotel in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, through an operating lease. It is a new (greenfield) project.

The hotel will follow the brand's 'Lean Luxe' idea and have Qmin, Ginger's all-day restaurant, and a bar. With this addition, IHCL will have 64 hotels in Uttar Pradesh, including 27 under development.

The rupee rose for a fifth straight session. It opened 29 paise higher at 94.35 per dollar against Wednesday's close of 94.64.

Brent crude fell $1.16 to $93.46 a barrel, its fourth fall in a row, and WTI fell $1.47 (1.66%) to $86.65. Both had dropped about 10% on Wednesday. Crude is down nearly 16% this week.

Traders think the Democrats' win in Congress could limit the US president's military options and push him towards a deal on Iran. Trump said there are no immediate plans to strike Iran. Oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz are back near pre-war levels, though at higher cost.

The dollar index slipped 0.06% to 101.41.

The shares traded at ₹158.00, up 3.10% from the previous close of ₹153.25. The day's range was ₹156.35 to ₹162.90. The 52-week range is ₹142.00 to ₹246.90, and market value is about ₹32,581 crore.

Promoters hold 75.00%, institutions 11.91% and others 13.09%.

On a standalone basis, profit rose 69.36% to ₹167.85 crore from ₹99.11 crore, and total income rose 36.11% to ₹1,724.85 crore. The stock touched a 52-week high.

On a standalone basis, profit was almost flat at ₹275.72 crore, down 0.53% from ₹277.19 crore, but total income rose 25.60% to ₹5,959.83 crore.

An HSBC report says India's data centre boom and new trade agreements may first raise imports and widen the trade deficit, but that need not weaken the rupee if they are paid for by foreign capital and lead to higher exports later.

About $70 billion of data centre investment is under way and $90 billion more is announced. Roughly 75% of build-out costs are imports (chips, servers, cooling, electrical equipment).

The report says what matters is how the deficit is financed. Steady investment over time, as in Malaysia, and more foreign capital (FDI, bonds, ECBs), as in Thailand, would keep the rupee supported.

Cummins India reported a 27% fall in profit after tax to ₹467 crore for Q2 FY27, from ₹638 crore a year ago. It blamed commodity and freight inflation and an unfavourable product mix.

Sales were steady: total sales rose 4% to ₹3,247 crore. Domestic sales rose 5% to ₹2,692 crore and exports rose 2% to ₹555 crore.

The MD said demand is healthy from data centres, manufacturing and real estate, and that the benefit of price increases will come in gradually. The company expects stable demand at home and abroad.

JK Lakshmi Cement reported a 74.1% fall in net profit to ₹21 crore from ₹81 crore a year ago, as fuel costs rose. Revenue rose 5.5% to ₹1,617 crore and cement volumes rose 5% to 29.83 lakh tonnes.

EBITDA fell 25.5% to ₹155 crore and the margin shrank to 10% from 14%. Per tonne, EBITDA fell 29% to ₹517. Fuel cost rose to ₹1.82 per kilocalorie from ₹1.54. Selling price was steady at ₹4,885 per tonne.

Net debt rose to ₹2,027 crore from ₹1,266 crore in March because of expansion at Durg and Madhubani, which will take capacity to 25.1 million tonnes a year by FY30. Capacity use was 62%.

The shares ended Wednesday 1.5% higher, but the stock is down nearly 40% so far this year.

A Knight Frank report says warehouse leasing across eight major cities rose 12% year-on-year to 19.1 million sq ft in July–September 2026, helped by manufacturing and logistics demand and stock build-up before the festive season.

Manufacturing and third-party logistics (3PL) firms made up 76% of demand. Manufacturing leasing rose 11% and 3PL leasing jumped 27%. E-commerce rose 5%, while FMCG leasing rose 101% and FMCD (consumer durables) rose 43%.

Poland's ambassador Piotr Antoni Switalski said bilateral trade could more than double or even triple by 2030 if the proposed India–EU Free Trade Agreement is fully used and business forum talks turn into projects.

During the Polish PM's recent visit, two business forums were held in Delhi and Bengaluru. Over 100 Polish and nearly 200 Indian companies took part, and 13 contracts, MoUs and letters of interest were signed.

He hopes the FTA will be signed in early December and take effect early next year. He invited Indian firms to invest in Poland as a gateway to Europe, and said Polish firms are interested in solar and green hydrogen. Defence cooperation will also deepen.
