Oil rose in early Asian trade on Tuesday. Brent rose 48 cents (0.5%) to $105.25 a barrel and US WTI rose 47 cents to $96.93. The jump came after the Wall Street Journal reported that the US struck Iran's Qeshm Island, which raised fears that the eight-month war could widen.

On Monday, Brent had settled $8.66 (7.63%) lower at $104.77. Some US officials called the strikes defensive, meant to stop Iran from attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Analyst Tim Waterer said the report "added a degree of risk premium back into the oil price".

Talks are still on. Tehran says contacts with the US are continuing after days of talks with Qatari mediators. President Trump doubted he would restart strikes and said a deal could happen. Iran's president says the Supreme Leader gave the government certain powers for peace talks.

The war began in late February and has cut traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, which used to carry about a fifth of the world's oil and gas. The US will also host Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Abu Dhabi on November 10–11.

On Monday, Sensex rose 1,233.25 points (1.66%) to 75,692.78 and Nifty rose 387.70 points to 23,440.80, the third straight day of gains. Hopes of progress in US-Iran talks pushed oil lower, and Reliance Industries added strong support.

Coal India, Tata Steel and JSW Steel were the top Nifty gainers. Oil & gas and metal stocks gained the most, while IT and media ended lower. Midcap 100 and Smallcap 100 also moved up, about 1.2% and 0.7%, as most closing reports show.

Experts say Nifty closed above its 50-day average and near the 23,500 resistance. 23,250–23,350 is the support zone, and holding it could open the way to 23,600. A break below 23,250 would weaken the breakout.

The rupee gained about 0.12% to 94.90 as WTI fell nearly 3% to about $99.70 and Brent traded below $109. Analysts see a range of 94.50–95.25.

At a symposium on "Ancient Wisdom for Modern Challenges", Professor Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University, who also heads the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, called the Adani Group a major driver of India's infrastructure-led growth. He acknowledged the work of the Adani Foundation in sustainable development in India and abroad.

He spoke about the duty of family-run businesses to give back to the communities they work in. He cited former Unilever CEO Paul Polman, who faced pushback from shareholders when he tried to make the company more socially responsible.

Sachs also questioned the rush for commercial gains in artificial intelligence without enough attention to its risks. This is a speech and not a company result, so it has no direct effect on earnings.

On a standalone basis, profit rose 34.40% to ₹1,458.53 crore from ₹1,085.18 crore, and total income rose 38.20% to ₹2,047.15 crore from ₹1,481.28 crore.

India's largest public sector bank reported net profit up 14.3% to ₹23,038 crore from ₹20,160 crore. Net interest income (what it earns on loans minus what it pays on deposits) rose 15% to ₹49,143 crore. Provisions for bad loans fell to ₹4,217 crore from ₹5,400 crore.

But operating profit slipped 1.4% to ₹26,937 crore, and the profit includes a one-time gain of ₹7,288 crore.

Asset quality improved. Gross NPA fell to 1.39% from 1.47% and net NPA to 0.36% from 0.38%. The slippage ratio was 0.50% and domestic net interest margin was 3.11%.

After the results SBI shares traded 0.73% lower at ₹979.75, while the Sensex was up about 1.25% near 76,641.

The company won a ₹508 crore order to build a skyscraper residential tower at Marine Lines in South Mumbai, and a ₹75 crore Letter of Acceptance from Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal for yard surcharging and reclamation work at JNPA (Nhava Sheva) port.

With these, its EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) portfolio has grown from ₹275 crore in September 2026 to about ₹858 crore. This gives clearer revenue for the standalone business in the coming years.

Its subsidiary ARAPL RaaS (Humro) got Conditional Approval from the US Department of War. It is among the first few robotics companies in the world and the only Indian company to get this approval under the US government's revised rules for foreign-made advanced robotic devices.

The approval covers its Maia2000 autonomous pallet trucks (V1, V3, V4) and Atlas AC2000 autonomous forklifts (V1, V2, V4). The FCC has put these products on its list of advanced robotic devices with Conditional Approval, so they are exempt from the FCC's Covered List restrictions.

This helps the company grow in the US as warehouses, factories and logistics firms adopt automation.

From November 2, GIFT Nifty trading begins at 5:15 am IST, 1 hour 15 minutes earlier than the old 6:30 am start. NSE International Exchange (NSEIX) now works almost round the clock, from 3:15 am until 2:45 am the next day.

New timings: pre-open at 5 am, normal trading from 5:15 am to 3:40 pm, then a pre-close session until 3:55 pm. The second session is unchanged, with pre-open at 3:58 pm and trading from 4:05 pm to 2:45 am.

GIFT Nifty is watched as a hint of how the Nifty will open. The earlier start lets traders react to overnight global news before Indian markets open, and gives overseas investors more time zones to trade in.

Under the Centre's PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, Gujarat has installed 9.08 lakh rooftop solar systems, 90% of its target of 10 lakh homes by March 2027. Together they have 3,408 MW capacity, the highest of any state, which is 18.21% of India's total under the scheme.

The state gives financial help and waives some charges. Homes get ₹2,950 help for systems up to 6 kW, and network charges and the net-metering agreement are waived. SC and ST households pay only 5% of the cost, and others pay 10%. Households can sell surplus power, with no limit on connected load.

As of September 30, Gujarat's renewable capacity is 55,511.46 MW (18.55% of India). Solar is 36,234.55 MW (21.2% of India) and wind is 17,043.76 MW (28.8% of India).

The USFDA gave tentative approval to Dr. Reddy's injectable lenacapavir, used to lower the risk of HIV-1, under the PEPFAR programme. This is a step toward WHO pre-qualification and approvals in individual countries.

Under an existing deal, the injection will cost $40 per person per year in 120 countries outside the US covered by Gilead Sciences' voluntary licence. The first supplies are expected before the end of 2026, with a wider rollout in 2027.

On Tuesday, markets opened higher for the second day this week. Sensex rose as much as 0.87% (over 600 points) to 76,358.79 and Nifty traded at 23,610.70, up 0.72%. Financial services led, with Nifty Financial Services ex-Bank up 1%. Healthcare and energy stocks saw profit-booking.

Analysts say conditions suit a continued rally: Brent fell to $104, the AI trade is weakening, Q2 results keep coming and FIIs are buying. Nifty is back above its 50-day average near 23,170, and RSI at 61.03 shows stronger momentum. Support is 23,200–23,300 and resistance is 23,600–23,700.

On Monday, FIIs bought ₹3,114 crore of shares for the second session in a row, while DIIs were net sellers of ₹392 crore. The US midterm election results will be watched closely.

AVG Logistics won a five-year transport contract from a multinational beverage company, and expects about ₹60 crore in revenue over the period.

It will use dedicated vehicles, GPS tracking, real-time shipment visibility and trained drivers, and it is expanding into specialised beverage logistics.

A Vestian report says warehousing and logistics leasing was 10.58 million sq ft in Q3 2026. In the first nine months it reached 32.6 million sq ft, the highest in three years. Q3 was up 0.2% from the last quarter and 15% from last year.

Investors put in $332 million, which is 17% of the quarter's total investment, the highest share in two years.

Third-party logistics (3PL) share fell to 29% from 41% but still led. Engineering and manufacturing had 23% and autos 14%.

Chennai led with 2.89 million sq ft (up 156% on the year). Mumbai was second with 2.70 million sq ft, down 37% on the year. Pune was third with 2.2 million sq ft, up 245% on the year.

BSE, Nestle India and Tata Consumer Products were the top Nifty gainers. Nifty FMCG jumped nearly 3%, while Nifty PSU Bank was the worst sector and ended lower. Midcap 100 rose 1.06% and Smallcap 100 rose 0.31%.

Experts see resistance at 23,800–23,900 and support at 23,200–23,500 if there is a pullback. They prefer stocks with relative strength and careful overnight risk, because of global events.

The rupee gained about 0.15% to 94.74 as commodity prices cooled.
