Sobha reported a 54.6% YoY decline in net profit to ₹32.9 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹72.5 crore. Revenue fell 31.3% to ₹967 crore. EBITDA declined 28.1% to ₹68.7 crore, but margin improved marginally to 7.1% from 6.8%. The luxury real estate developer has a significant presence across Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kochi and GIFT City, plus international operations in UAE and Gulf markets.

Waaree Renewable Technologies reported a 29% YoY decline in consolidated net profit to ₹81.48 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹116.36 crore. Revenue rose 36.5% to ₹1,057.84 crore. Total expenses climbed to ₹961.66 crore from ₹622.63 crore. The company's unexecuted order book stands at over ₹5,500 crore, with a bidding pipeline of 34.6 GWp solar, 12.5 GWh BESS, and T&D projects worth ₹21,900 crore. The acquisition of APSPL added financing costs and different margin profile.

Justdial reported a 9.74% YoY decline in net profit to ₹107.8 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹119.4 crore. Sequentially, profit fell 35% from ₹166.2 crore in Q1. Operating revenue rose 13% YoY and 5% QoQ to ₹342.8 crore. EBITDA rose 4.1% to ₹90.6 crore, but margin contracted 230 bps to 26.4%. Total expenses increased 15% YoY to ₹262.8 crore. The stock closed 4.45% higher at ₹745.

Indian stock markets remained closed on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, on account of Dussehra. Trading in equities, equity derivatives, SLB, currency derivatives and interest rate derivatives was suspended on both BSE and NSE. However, the commodity derivatives segment followed a different schedule, with MCX reopening for the evening session from 5 PM. Normal trading resumed on Wednesday, October 21. Three more trading holidays remain in 2026: November 10 (Diwali-Balipratipada), November 24 (Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti), and December 25 (Christmas).

Sensex surged 695 points (0.94%) to 74,548.69 and Nifty gained 200 points (0.86%) to 23,086.95 in early trade on Wednesday. Apple India's revenue crossed the ₹1 lakh crore mark for the first time in FY26, reaching ₹1,03,853 crore, up 31% YoY from ₹79,060 crore. Net profit surged 66% to ₹5,311 crore from ₹3,196 crore. iPhone volumes rose 24% in FY26. The premium smartphone segment (above ₹30,000) outperformed the broader market with 12% volume growth. Apple India's revenue is now closer to Samsung India's ₹1.12 lakh crore.

L&T Technology Services reported a 66.78% jump in consolidated net profit to ₹548.20 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹328.70 crore. Total income rose 10.52% to ₹3,071.30 crore. On a standalone basis, net profit rose 67.73% to ₹515.10 crore, with total income up 11.96% to ₹2,613.20 crore. Strong deal wins and AI-led engagements drove the performance.

Mid East Portfolio Management entered into an MoU with Cher Lifestyle to explore a proposed strategic association for business expansion and funding. The parties intend to evaluate a proposed funding arrangement of up to ₹5 crore for establishing three additional branches of Cher Lifestyle. The arrangement may involve equity investment, debt funding, convertible instruments, or a combination. The MoU also provides for strategic guidance and possible board representation.

Takyon Networks received a work order worth ₹1.33 crore from IIT Kanpur for supply and installation of modern smart racks. The order is to be executed within 60 days. Earlier, the company received a work order worth ₹2.56 crore from Banaras Locomotive Works, Indian Railways, Varanasi.

HD Fire Protect debuted at ₹334.40 on BSE, up 23.39% from its issue price of ₹271. The stock touched a high of ₹338 and low of ₹303.55. The IPO was subscribed 92.32 times. The issue price was fixed at the upper end of ₹258-271 per share. Currently trading at ₹307.55, up 13.49%.

Hindustan Zinc reported over two-fold jump in consolidated net profit to ₹6,412 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹2,649 crore. Total income rose 76.02% to ₹15,467 crore. On a standalone basis, net profit jumped over two-fold to ₹6,317 crore, with total income up 75.01% to ₹15,334 crore. Strong metal prices and operational efficiency drove the performance.

Infosys expanded its collaboration with Truist, one of the largest US-based financial services companies, to support the bank's continued build-out of its AI-first Global Capability Center in Hyderabad. Truist is consolidating capabilities from multiple suppliers into a unified operating model. Infosys and Truist will celebrate onboarding of more than 1,000 colleagues later this month. Infosys will help build, scale, and transition a self-sustaining center of excellence.

Mirza International incorporated a new 100% wholly owned subsidiary named 'Mirza Footwear' on October 19, 2026. Piramal Finance reported 64.79% rise in consolidated net profit to ₹538.59 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹326.83 crore. Total income rose 28.17% to ₹3,717.16 crore. On a standalone basis, net profit rose 90.59% to ₹529.21 crore, with total income up 28.34% to ₹3,683.06 crore. Strong loan growth and improved margins drove the performance.

UltraTech Cement reported 21.29% rise in consolidated net profit to ₹1,493.77 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹1,231.58 crore. Total income rose 18.44% to ₹23,405.96 crore. On a standalone basis, net profit rose 25.18% to ₹1,331.78 crore, with total income up 23.72% to ₹22,192.25 crore. Strong volume growth and operational efficiency drove the performance.

Nuvama Wealth Management's wholly owned subsidiary Nuvama Asset Management (NAML) received approval from SEBI to establish and launch a Specialized Investment Fund (SIF) under the SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 2026. NAML will launch a Specialised Investment Platform called Numa SIF and offer SIF products. This expands the company's wealth management offerings.

Just Dial reported a 9.74% decline in net profit to ₹107.81 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹119.44 crore. Total income rose 5.58% to ₹397.38 crore. Despite the profit decline, revenue growth remained positive. The stock closed at ₹745, up 4.45%.

Transrail Lighting bagged new orders worth ₹927 crore, mainly in its Domestic Power T&D business. Post these orders, the order intake for the year increased to ₹3,356 crore. The orders include EPC projects for 765kV & 400kV transmission lines and conductor supply orders to USA. The company has declared more than ₹2,300 crore orders in the last 3 weeks. Expanded in-house manufacturing capabilities for towers and conductors position the company for sustainable growth.

GRP successfully completed the installation of solar power plants at Ankleshwar and Panoli facilities in Gujarat and commenced commercial generation with effect from October 19, 2026. The 8 MWp project was completed with a ₹2.60 crore cash investment. This enables the company to procure solar power at a preferential tariff, reducing overall energy costs and utilizing renewable energy.

Spice Lounge Food Works' subsidiary TEKsoft Systems secured a large AI development order from Resource Point LLC, Michigan, USA, worth $5,250,000 (approximately ₹49.64 crore). The project is for development of an AI-powered technology platform for the sales and recruitment sector. The scope covers software development, QA, system integration, deployment, and go-live support using Microsoft technologies, AI, automation, and third-party API integrations. The project will be executed over approximately 24 months, with production go-live targeted by July 2028.

Aye Finance reported its highest-ever quarterly PAT of ₹86.7 crore, up 151% YoY and 16% QoQ. RoAUM stood at 4.7%. Credit cost declined for the seventh straight quarter to 3.8%, while operating expense ratio declined to 8.6%, lowest in 8 quarters. NIM stood at 15.6%. AUM grew 26% YoY to ₹7,597 crore. Disbursements rose 10% YoY to ₹1,403 crore. Active customers at 6.94 lakh. GNPA/NNPA at 4.2%/1.6%.

Signature Global shares declined 36.91% YTD in 2026, trading at ₹711.75. The stock fell 33.61% over the past year, 17.12% in six months, and 6.58% in the past month. The weak performance comes despite Q2FY27 collections rising 51% QoQ to ₹1,010 crore and 9% YoY. However, pre-sales declined 9% YoY to ₹1,830 crore. H1FY27 pre-sales fell 18% to ₹3,800 crore. Units sold more than doubled QoQ to 454, but H1 units dropped 49% to 680.

Jupiter Life Line Hospitals entered into a hypothecation agreement with HDFC Bank for financing capital expenditure requirements. The agreement size is ₹500 crore (sublimit of ₹300 crore towards LC facility). Security includes exclusive charge on Dombivli Hospital and Pune Baner Hospital on immovable properties, tangible movable assets by way of mortgage and hypothecation, and paripassu charge on current assets and receivables.

TCS expanded its long-standing partnership with Indian Bank to deploy TCS BaNCS for Treasury at Indian Bank's Colombo branch in Sri Lanka, marking the entry of the platform in the country. Union Bank of India reported 30.62% rise in consolidated net profit to ₹5,781 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹4,425.95 crore. Total income rose 5.40% to ₹33,471.29 crore. On a standalone basis, net profit rose 30.32% to ₹5,537.20 crore, with total income up 5.20% to ₹32,809.29 crore. Strong loan growth and improved margins boosted profitability.

Kwality Pharmaceuticals acquired 4 acres of land adjacent to its existing manufacturing facility in Amritsar, Punjab to support its next phase of growth. The company plans to develop a fully automated manufacturing facility comprising 4 injectable lines and 6+ lines for tablets, capsules, ophthalmic and other oral solid dosage formulations, designed with EU GMP requirements. The project is targeted for completion by Q4 FY2028, with full operations expected by Q2 FY2029.

Highness Microelectronics inaugurated its new glass cutting line at its manufacturing plant in Rabale, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, on October 19, 2026. Bajaj Finance reported 28.68% rise in consolidated net profit to ₹6,366.57 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹4,947.76 crore. Total income rose 22.93% to ₹24,575.82 crore. On a standalone basis, net profit rose 30.24% to ₹5,536.10 crore, with total income up 23.02% to ₹20,919.40 crore. Despite strong numbers, shares declined as investors booked profits.

Adani Green Energy reported a 41% YoY rise in EBITDA from power supply to ₹7,957 crore in H1FY27, driven by a 32% increase in energy sales to 25.75 billion units. Revenue from power supply increased 36% to ₹8,299 crore, with EBITDA margin at 92.9%. Cash profit grew 35% to ₹4,176 crore. The company invested ₹17,160 crore in capex. It achieved a milestone in energy storage, expanding operational BESS capacity at Khavda to 6.63 GWh — the world's largest single-location battery storage installation. AGEL is now India's largest BESS operator, accounting for more than half of the country's operational capacity.

Benchmark indices ended lower for the second consecutive session on Wednesday. The Sensex fell 143.21 points (0.19%) to 73,709.69, while the Nifty declined 77.60 points (0.34%) to 22,811.35. Nifty MidCap dropped 1.58% and SmallCap slumped 2.37%. Bajaj Finance, BSE Ltd and Eternal were the top losers. Nifty IT was the top sectoral gainer. Experts say a sustained move above 23,000 is necessary to improve the short-term technical outlook. Downside support: 22,650–22,600, followed by 22,300. A decisive break below 22,600 could intensify selling pressure.

Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC reported a 28.6% QoQ decline in net profit to ₹221 crore in Q2FY27. Revenue rose 4.5% QoQ to ₹483.81 crore. Operating profit margin stood at 55.4% vs 55.6% in Q1. Employee expenses rose 8.5% QoQ, and other income declined nearly 74%. QAAUM increased 3.3% QoQ to ₹4.42 lakh crore, but lagged the industry's 5% expansion. Mutual fund market share declined 10 bps QoQ to 5.7%. SIP registrations rose to 7.05 lakh from 5.47 lakh. The stock recovered from early losses, trading 1.6% lower at ₹943.4.

FIIs were net sellers in equities worth ₹413.20 crore on Wednesday (gross buying ₹12,043.52 crore vs gross selling ₹12,456.72 crore). In debt, they were net buyers of ₹121.28 crore. In hybrid, net sellers of ₹0.63 crore. FII selling has moderated significantly compared to previous weeks.

Franklin Templeton India MF's Equity Market Snapshot highlights that rising input costs will impact corporate margins and reflect in September quarter results. Market correction has made equity valuations reasonable. The narrowing gap between Indian and US interest rates could affect foreign flows and pressure the currency. US Fed, ECB and BOJ each raised rates by 25 bps. India's headline inflation rose from 4.5% to 4.8%. RBI raised repo rate by 25 bps to 5.50% and signalled further measured increases. Fixed income market is pricing in a hawkish monetary policy environment. Investors could benefit from accrual-based short-duration strategies and actively managed duration strategies.
