BHEL Q2 net profit jumps 120% to ₹810 crore; shares hit record high
BHELBHEL reported a 120.1% YoY jump in consolidated net profit to ₹810 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹368 crore. Revenue rose 23.8% to ₹9,300 crore. EBITDA surged 76.6% to ₹1,026 crore, with margin expanding to 11% from 7.7%. The board approved ₹500 crore capex for thermal and nuclear equipment manufacturing at Haridwar plant. Stock hit a record high of ₹463.60, up 58% in 2026 and 99% in a year.

DMR ENGDMR Engineering received a letter of assignment worth $216,000 from Studio Ing. G. Pietrangeli Srl for providing engineering consultancy services to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Department of Power (DPN), Nagaland. The order is to be executed within 12 months.

Bharat Coking Coal gets nod to rationalise raw coking coal prices
BHARAT COKINGBharat Coking Coal received approval for rationalisation of basic prices of certain grades of Raw Coking Coal for Non-Regulated Sector. The revision covers Steel Grades (I and II), Direct Feed, PCC Washery Grades (W-II to W-VI) and HVMC Washery Grades (W-I to W-VI). Basic prices increased by 0.1% to 14% over existing prices. Approved on October 13, 2026.

Ceigall India gets completion certificate for ₹1,659.84 crore Delhi-Saharanpur Highway Project
CEIGALL INDIACeigall India received the Completion Certificate from the Authority's Engineer for a key stretch of the Delhi–Saharanpur Highway in Uttar Pradesh, executed jointly with Gayatri Projects. The project involves development of a six-lane, access-controlled section of NH-709B for NHAI, from Delhi/UP Border to EPE Junction. Revised project cost: ₹1,659.84 crore. Part of the Economic Corridor under Phase I of Bharatmala Pariyojana.

FIIs net sellers in equities and debt on Oct 14: NSDL
FII FLOWFIIs were net sellers in equities worth ₹1,436.41 crore on Wednesday (gross buying ₹13,687.01 crore vs gross selling ₹15,123.42 crore). In debt, they were net sellers of ₹194.53 crore. In hybrid, net sellers of ₹9.40 crore.

Tata Technologies Q2 profit slips 5% to ₹171 crore
TATA TECHTata Technologies reported a 5.19% QoQ decline in net profit to ₹171 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹181 crore in Q1. Revenue rose 2% QoQ to ₹1,699 crore. EBIT declined 1.2% to ₹219 crore, with margin contracting to 12.9% from 13.3%. CEO Warren Harris remains confident of strong double-digit growth for the full year, with revenues growing 28% YoY in Q2.

Indian equity markets open higher despite weak global cues
MARKET OPENSensex opened at 72,965.80 (up 183.91 points) and Nifty at 22,671.30 (up 48.60 points). Nifty IT, FMCG, Auto and Private Bank were top gainers. Nifty Metal declined 1%. US inflation spiked to 3.7% in September from 3.4% in August, raising rate hike concerns. Nasdaq corrected 1.88%, Nikkei down 4%, Kospi down 7%. FIIs sold ₹1,857 crore on Wednesday; DIIs bought ₹2,670 crore.

SEBI proposes SME-only IPO route for firms valued up to ₹1,000 crore
SEBISEBI proposed a major revamp of the SME IPO framework. Companies valued up to ₹1,000 crore would list only on SME platforms. Firms valued between ₹1,000-4,000 crore can choose between SME and mainboard. Companies above ₹4,000 crore only on mainboard. SME IPO candidates need average annual operating profit of at least ₹3 crore. Loss-making firms can list if QIBs subscribe 75% of net offer. Proposal to scrap mandatory 100% underwriting; issues need 90% subscription. Minimum application size reduced to ₹1 lakh; minimum allottees increased to 500.

IDBI Bank shares tank over 7% as government clears ₹52,878 crore stake sale to Fairfax
IDBI BANKIDBI Bank shares plunged as much as 7.45% to ₹83.70 after CCEA approved sale of an aggregate 60.72% equity stake to Canada Inc. (parent: Fairfax Financial Holdings) for ₹52,878 crore. Government's share: 30.48%, LIC's: 30.24%. Residual: Government 15%, LIC 19%. This will be the largest FDI in the financial sector so far.

CEAT reports 40% decline in Q2 consolidated net profit to ₹112 crore
CEATCEAT reported a 39.78% decline in consolidated net profit at ₹112 crore in Q2FY27 vs ₹186 crore a year ago. Total income rose 26.21% to ₹4,767 crore from ₹3,777 crore. On a standalone basis, net profit fell 18.81% to ₹164 crore, while total income rose 23.40% to ₹4,588 crore. Higher input costs pressured margins.

L&T signs MoU with TuTr Hyperloop for next-gen mobility technologies
L&TLarsen & Toubro signed an MoU with TuTr Hyperloop, an IIT Madras-incubated deep-tech mobility start-up, to explore opportunities in next-generation mobility technologies and infrastructure in India. The collaboration will assess opportunities across Linear Induction Motor-based propulsion systems, vacuum tube infrastructure, pressure management systems, civil and structural works, electrical infrastructure, signalling, telecommunications and systems integration.

Zydus Lifesciences' JV inks pact to set up pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Sri Lanka
ZYDUS LIFEZydus Lifesciences' joint venture Zydus Sunshine Lifesciences signed an agreement with the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka to establish a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the BOI zone in Horana, Sri Lanka. The project envisages a phased investment of over $20 million on a site of nearly four acres. Commercial operations expected to commence in 2028. First phase will manufacture oral solid dosage forms for the Sri Lankan market.

Nestle India shares tumble 9% despite strong Q2 earnings
NESTLE INDIANestle India shares plunged as much as 9% to ₹1,260 despite reporting strong Q2 earnings. Net profit rose 36.3% to ₹1,026.70 crore vs ₹753.20 crore. Revenue rose 20.5% to ₹6,782.17 crore. EBITDA climbed 31% to ₹1,615.48 crore. Export sales grew 22%. Total expenses rose 17% to ₹5,405.51 crore. Stock recovered to trade 4% lower at ₹1,329 by noon.
