New Delhi, February 24, 2026: At the invitation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a State visit to Israel on February 25–26, 2026. This marks his second visit to the country, underscoring the continued importance of the India–Israel strategic partnership.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Netanyahu. The discussions will focus on reviewing the substantial progress achieved under the India–Israel Strategic Partnership and identifying new avenues for cooperation across key sectors.
Areas expected to be high on the agenda include science and technology, innovation, defence and security collaboration, agriculture, water management, trade and economic engagement, as well as strengthening people-to-people ties. The two leaders are also likely to exchange views on pressing regional and global developments, reflecting the expanding diplomatic coordination between the two nations.
In addition to his bilateral meetings, Prime Minister Modi will call on Israeli President Isaac Herzog, reinforcing high-level political engagement between the two democracies.
India and Israel have steadily deepened ties over the past decade, particularly in defence cooperation, agricultural technology, water conservation solutions, and startup-driven innovation. Trade and investment flows between the two countries have also grown, supported by expanding business linkages and technological collaboration.
The visit is expected to reaffirm the long-standing partnership between the two countries and provide fresh momentum to ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation in emerging and strategic sectors.
Why It Matters
This visit comes at a time of evolving geopolitical dynamics and heightened regional sensitivities in West Asia. A renewed push in India–Israel ties signals India’s intent to diversify strategic partnerships while strengthening cooperation in technology, defence and innovation-driven growth.
For India, closer collaboration with Israel offers access to advanced defence systems, cutting-edge agricultural technologies and water management expertise—critical for domestic development priorities. For Israel, India remains one of its largest defence and technology partners and a major emerging market.
Beyond bilateral trade and defence, the engagement reflects India’s broader foreign policy strategy of balancing relationships across regions while reinforcing ties with key innovation-driven economies.
The visit is therefore not just ceremonial—it signals continuity, strategic alignment and a forward-looking roadmap between two resilient democracies navigating a rapidly shifting global order.
