📌 STORY 01 · MARKET RECOVERY & BANKING SUPPORT
SENSEX, NIFTY SNAP 3-DAY LOSING STREAK; BANKS LEAD RECOVERY
Indian equity benchmarks ended higher on Thursday after a choppy session, snapping a three-day losing streak. The Nifty 50 closed at 23,477.80, up 46.30 points or 0.20%, while the BSE Sensex gained 138.36 points, or 0.19%, to close at 74,902.59. A sharp rebound in the closing auction session helped indices finish in positive territory despite Brent crude prices climbing above $100 per barrel.

Key Driver: Selective buying in banking and financial stocks provided support. Power Grid emerged as the top Sensex gainer, rising 2.27%, while Axis Bank gained 1.65% and UltraTech Cement rose 1.44%. PSU Bank index advanced 0.39%, Private Bank rose 0.34%, and Financial Services gained 0.57%.

Intraday Picture: The Nifty opened at 23,446.60 and hit an intraday high of 23,494.95, while the Sensex swung nearly 1,000 points in the final minutes of trade before settling higher. Midcap and smallcap indices remained under pressure, with Nifty Midcap 50 falling 0.36%.
Rupie Speak:Nifty reclaimed 23,450 decisively. Banking stocks provided the much-needed support. Crude above $100 remains the biggest headwind, but FII buying is a positive signal.
📈 STORY 02 · OIL SURGES ABOVE $100
BRENT CRUDE HOLDS ABOVE $100; US-IRAN TENSIONS PERSIST
Brent crude oil futures remained above $100 a barrel on Thursday, trading near $101.04, as escalating US-Iran tensions in West Asia kept supply disruption fears alive. WTI crude traded around $96.11. The surge in crude prices poses a risk to India's inflation and current account deficit, given the country is the world's third-largest crude oil importer.

Outlook: Markets will closely monitor US-Iran diplomatic developments and any further escalation in the Strait of Hormuz. Brent breached the $100 mark on Wednesday for the first time since July 24.
Rupie Speak:Oil above $100 is a red flag. If it breaks $105, expect more pain for equities and the rupee. Stay cautious.
🇮🇳 STORY 03 · RUPEE · VIX · FLOWS
RUPEE SLUMPS 38 PAISE; INDIA VIX SLIPS BELOW 12
The rupee depreciated 38 paise to close at 95.46 (provisional) against the US dollar on Thursday, as Brent crude breached the $102 threshold, mounting concerns over the country's import cost trajectory. The rupee opened at 95.15 and lost ground through the session.

India VIX, the volatility gauge for the Indian equity market, closed at 11.75, down 1.68% from the previous close of 11.92, after moving within an intraday range of 11.52–11.96, indicating some moderation in market anxiety.

FII/DII Flows: FII activity remained mixed, with selective buying in banking and financial stocks. DIIs also remained supportive.
Rupie Speak:Rupee sliding past 95.40 is a concern. VIX cooling below 12 is a positive sign, but oil remains the bigger story.
